Grill Question

Does anyone know if the new 2012 GMC Sierra 2500 Grill will fit on a 1500 series? I want the new grill.

haha I love the new grille also and eventually plan on doing it. I think to make it fit you have to swap out front bumpers as the 2500 the lip part where the bottom of the grille sits is deeper. Otherwise it's all the same. The only thing stopping me is that the 2500 bumpers hang down further if you look an compare vs the 1500's. I'm wondering if its possible to just replace the top part on the bumper that's above the usually chrome part not sure if it's a two piece and if it is might be able to just order that piece and reuse the factory lower, although I also like the 2500's front license plate mount better.

I looked at doing the same thing, but the GM Dealer said it was not possible without modifications.

Chevy said the same about theirs but for those you just have to swap the grile and bumper and if you want the hood. if there was a Gmc dealer near id just checkout a 2500s bumper on how it bolts up. The 2500s use the same body and all just powertrain, frame and grille are the real differences so mounting points I would think are the.same. Ill have to.find.some schematics and compare.
