Strange RAP (remote accessory 12v) behavior in 2008 NBS

i just hooked a JL amp up to my 2008 GMC Sierra, 2500 diesel. Using it to drive a separate subwoofer. i have the Bose non-Nav system.

 

for the RAP 12v turn on, i used the MBEC box, x14 bay, pin 8, which i found instructions from Diesail, searching old threads.

 

So it works, turns on my amp, and i am not using a relay.

 

But, one weird thing, is that when you open the passenger doors, the pin 8 power turns off. Thus, my radio keeps playing, but the amp/sub turn off.

 

Is this normal? why would the radio keep running when passenger doors open, but that RAP pin turns off?

 

would i be better served to try and tap into a 12v remote wire on te bose amp?

Mine does the same thing. I think that's normal.

thanks for reply. was wondering if somehow screwed something up, but i guess not.

 

Has anybody wired to the RAP wire on the Bose Amp?
