Interior door handles

I have an 07 Silverado LTZ. The chrome on the interior door handles is splitting at the seam, cut my hand open the other day. Seems to be doing it on 3 of the handles, anybody else have this issue? I'm sure Chevy won't do anything about it, how hard are they to change out? Thanks

My '07 Tahoe is doing the same thing. I tried using clear nail polish (not mine) to seal the seam, but it only lasted for a short time. Ended up covering the seam with duct tape until I can round up some 2-part epoxy to seal it with.

on my brothers Saturn its doing the same thing and Saturn view is basically a GM product. Basically cheap quality that GM put out and I dont know how much it has improved his vehicle was a 2007 I think and I dont think GM has made any new contracts with its suppliers . So basicaly the same old cheap stuff is on the 2012 cars/trucks . Not sure about the cruze or sonic never been in one before.

Theres been a few topics posted on this. I believe GM did fix most of the peoples concerns. If it was me, I'd find a new set on ebay and swap them out if GM won't help you. Not sure if it was a TSB or not, worth making a call to the dealership.

That link is from 2.5 years ago. Did GM ever find a fix for this? Was there ever an actaul recall? My 2010 in in the shop as of today for this very same reason. My truck has 12,000 miles on it and the Driver's handle has been this was for a while.

There was a TSB by way of GM. They've replaced quite a few for people, give it a try.

A TSB does not help you wallet any unless you are under warranty as far as I know.

The dealer replaced them on my Tahoe. They ask me if they were splitting or chipping and replaced them free of charge when I went in for an oil change. They replaced all 4 and I didn't know they were a problem. I suppose you should be able to go to any dealer to get it taken care of. They obviously know there is a problem.

EX-F150 owner,

Has your concern been resolved? Have you brought this to the attention of your local dealer? I can also look into this for you on my end as well with the last eight of your VIN. Contact me privately for more assistance. Thank you.
