Accidentally drained front diff partially. What to do?

1. Let it finish draining

2. Fill to fill hole with new oil

3. Stop worrying, its just a ****ing diff

Prior to this my only diff experience came from pulling the cover off my Camaro's in the infield and having pieces fall out.

I will probably buy another quart today. Due to space restrictions I could not get it filled high enough to feel the fluid level with my finger. I drained the rest of the old fluid before adding new. I still have about 1/4 of the quart but I can't tilt t high enough to get it in and not all of what came out ended up in the diff

Those little hand pump kits they sell in back with the catch pans and differential additives work well for pumping in all you need. I leave the bottle flat on the ground, and safely out of my "Spaz" zone so I don't knock it over and have to bribe one of the kids to walk up to the parts store with a note and a $20 bill to bring me a new one while I'm trying to mop up the spreading slick. Anyway, with that you can easily pump it in and fill above the fill port, and just wait and let it settle and run out into the pan until you have the level a bit above or below "dead even" with the fill port depending on how you prefer to top it off. Cap the port, wipe off the diff, and DONE! Tie up the pump in a plastic bag til next time. They survive years in a clean place. You can't really change oil too much so make the best of it.

try putting a hose on a funnel and pour it in from the top
