2007 5.3 PCV Valve

So I understand that it is part of the head gasket......so can it be replaced without replacing the whole head gasket or do you have to replace the whole thing? I thought it was a $10 job (buy the part at Napa and go) but everything I am reading says different. Dealership said $600 to replace it as it was part of the head gasket. (HOLY CRAPPPP) Please tell me I can replace it without doing that.

It's not a PCV it's now a fixed orifice and doesn't need replacement. Why do you feel you need to replace it?

As was posted, its a fixed orifice valve and not replacable. It is actually made into the drivers side valve cover.

my old 2005 Envoy XL 5.3l had this problem; they removed the drivers side valve cover and replaced the the cover. There was a lot of burnt oil and the orifice was all carboned and gummed up.
