Can't program homelink in both vehicles

Recommended Posts

Posted

We just bought two vehicles, a Tahoe and a Silverado, went to program the homelink buttons to open our garage and worked fine on both vehicles but when I returned to the second vehicle it no longer worked. Reprogrammed it to find the second vehicle didn't work. We had both of our previous vehicles programmed so I don't know, also the remotes that came with the door opener still both work just fine. What is going on and how can I fix it?

Call the number in the Owners Manual discussed in the homelink programming pages. I had to do it, and when they confirmed over the phone that something wasn't right they sent me a new one, already programmed how I needed it and would pay for a dealer to install! Even though it's easy so I just did it myself.

I don't know if it has something to do with the Tahoe having a different style for programming it where you have to use the remote for it to learn the code. I even tried programming the Tahoe while I was at work so that the two vehicles were not close to each other. No luck, sounds like a call to Homelink
