Part time cruise control and no indicator light.

Hello,

 

New member and first time post.

 

I have a 2008 GMC Silverado 1500 with a difficult CC and no indicator lamp.

I do not have the steering wheel control buttons, just the wand on the column.

The CC is a hit and miss kind of thing. When it does work, I have to hold the button down for 5 to 10 seconds before it does engage with a resulting engine surge. The indicator lamp never comes on. I have read about having to replace the stop brake switch as a first fix for this problem. Is there a bulb in the instrument cluster that needs to be replaced along with the brake switch?

i replaced my brake switch on my 2008 and problem went away. $20.00 at dealer then.
