Ding King

Just saw in the Walgreens ad today that they are now selling the "Ding King", that as seen on TV DIY dent puller.  Has anyone tried it?  I'm tempted to, I have to small door dings in my front passenger door that have been there a while but I don't want to spend $150 to get them removed.  The Ding King is only 29.99 so I'm thinking of trying it, but I don't want to mess anything up or even try it if someone has had bad luck with it.  Anyone have any previous experience with it?

Thanks,

WEFs99-- Thats all I wanted to know.  I was more worried about it damaging my paint rather than not working, but that works to.  Think I'll pass!!

the local fox news (chicago) did a special on it.  They gave it to an autobody class at some school.  The results were good.  It takes multiple applications (basically do it 5 times appx) to remove the dent fully.  Only thing i didnt like was the glue residue left over you have to scrape off.  I am thinking of getting one to try out on my dads truck this spring

Hmmm...must of missed it Ryan, I don't recall seeing in on the news.  Might have to swing by Walgreens then and pick it up...don't like the sound of the glue residue to much though!

Some of the paintless dent removal guys use a tool similar to that.  Depending on the size of the piece you glue on, it should work well on most dents without creases.

The con man on late night TV (as seen on TV) smacks a hood (wide surface) with a rubber hammer and proceeds to pop it out successfully. That particular trick can be done with a bathroom plunger.  Body-shops do use similar devices but usually just prior to doing conventional body work.  The scam that really did have me wondering is the one where they wax a hood with some miraculous snake oil and set it on fire and the original paint is unharmed.  One of the major reputable wax/polish companies explained that the material burning on the hood for the short duration never gets the actual hood over dangerous temperatures strange as it my seem.
