1.5" ready lift on- not much more to spare

There is no way 2" or more would work on my specific truck. In fact, when the tech drove off to road test the alignment, my new GMC looked like an old Ford when he hit the gas. The front end was up like an old truck that needed attention. I was really disappointed. Maybe I can justify the 400+ft/lb torque of the 6.2 as a reason. Sitting in a parking lot, it looks great- maybe in need of more aggressive tires. However, unless I'm parked or braking or cruising, it looks funny. My next investment will be larger tires and Firestone ride rites so I can tow the boat without it looking like an Explorer or Ranger. Without using a tape measure, if there was another .25" or . 75" inch lift, this thing would look ridiculous. I'd take it off tomorrow. Maybe 285/55 nittos will help. Anyhow, I'm only posting this in case anyone is thinking they may want to go less on a lift. My advice is to consider it. Everyone is different.

I solved my problem - added airbags and with 10 lbs minimum required, 16-20lbs gives enough stiffness in the rear to prevent some of the squatting when hitting the gas. Now I can tow and adjust as needed.
