why is my fuel pump leaking

i have a mechanical pump.somebody said they get leaks when they god bad but i cany really get to it in the tight space..do they really leak when they wear out??

Yes they do. Rubber diaphragm inside deteriorates Replace it

Didn't you mention this in another post along with one of the bolts being broken or stripped? Yes a bad fuel pump will leak. They have a diaphram inside that pumps the fuel. If the diaphram goes bad, fuel can lead around this and make its way outside of the area where it's suppose to stay. It can also leak fuel into your oil pan as well causing other major problems. Probably should change it as soon as you can.
