Engine Swap on 02 Silverado

Did a 5.3 to a 5.3 back in February and it went quite smoothly, except for breaking stuff (truck has 308k on it when I did it). I wanted to do a 6.0 swap but had a parts truck with a 5.3 in it. I would say go for the 6.0 since you'll be in there, get some more power. But you will either need to build your 4L60E get a 4L65E or even a 4L70E, which is a real heavy duty 4L60E. Deffinently do a 4L70E if you have any engine mods or a tune

Also, if you go with a 6.0L do not get an LQ4 they have iron heads, get the vortec max in the SS's which is an LQ9 which dissipates heat faster, and has a lesser chance of cracking heads

Actually I believe the 4L65 has a different planetary gearset then the 4L60
