04 Denali Electronics Questions

Recently purchased an 04 Yukon, but won't pick it up for another month. In the meantime, I'm trying to get the appropriate devices to hook up the iphone so I am ready to go for the cross country trip. Does anyone happen to know if there is an audio jack on either the factory nav system or somewhere else that would take a simple aux cable to play music from the iphone. Also, would there happen to be bluetooth in the car? Thanks.

I don't believe there is an aux plug, usb, or Bluetooth. I don't think any of these became available until 07 but I could be wrong

There is no USB, no AUX and no Bluetooth in an 04 Denali. The system is so outdated that you can't even get OnStar if you wanted it. You can buy aftermarket kits to hook up ipods (installed one in the '04 my son drives) but not sure about Bluetooth. Better off getting an aftermarket receiver, but them you can't get XM without additional equipment (That was last year, so technology may have improved).

On-Star works in an 04, it doesn't have any adapters for phones but you can still get the service. I have it in mine.

Use one of these.

I installed one in my 04 avalanche and works great. There is also a bluetooth add-on you can buy. I installed mine in the cupholder:

It does override the XM input but you can still use XM.

Completed install:

You're the second person I've noted to say that about OnStar. Where did you hear that? I'm just curious because I've talked directly to On Star and you can get service on any On Star equipped vehicle. You can't get newer features like the App to unlock doors but basic service is there. Mine is still up & running as I type right now.

Older than 04 had analog equipment where you can only get basic features. 04 and up have digital equipment, 04 is the last year you can get the monthly reports and stuff.

Called Onstar and they told me the service wasn't compatible because it was an analog, not digital system.
