Sierra with CMS and BAKFLIP G2: Massive Confusion

Hey guys, I know that there is a bunch up about this but nothing is overly recent and I'm appraoching a dead end. Every retailer (and their suppliers) that I speak to doesn't seem to think that there is a difference between the CMS sized clamps and the regular ones. On that info, I went to my local place today and tried to have a standard kit installed and it's a no-go, clamp won't fit behind the CMS rail and the bed rail. Now this guy even called BAK, their warranty guy told him that as of about a year ago these are all the same clamps, well his stock is less than a year old and it doesn't fit. Today I called BAK, got customer service and was told that you need to order a 26100 part number which is a standard kit and request the low-profile clamps for the CMS or it will not fit (there is a statement on the blog of their site that says the same thing but that was posted in 2008, back when there was still a model nbumber with a "-T" at the end). I even just tried another retailer to see if I'd have any luck, none in stock and their supplier says it's the same unit (wrong again). Just got a 2012 Sierra a week ago and I'm loving it but I'm unable to transport the gear that I need to without a cover and this situation is making me wish I had my SUV back.

Could anybody with a GMC/Chev and the CMS + Bakflip combo that they bought over the last year or so maybe shed some certain light on this for me? **Actually what would be really great is if I could get a measurement from top to bottom of one of these "low-profile" clips and maybe a close up pic installed so that I could compare it to the standard one that we can't get to fit here today. It's amazing how something so simple is being made so difficult by both the company and it's distributors here, especially considering it's such a great / high quality product.

Thanks guys
