engine swap?

I have a lifted 98 Chevy 1500 on 38.5" super swamper boggers that I am looking to get more power for. I was just wondering if anyone has experimented with an LS series engine swap in this body style and how hard it would be if possible? What all would need to be changed out? and would the stock 4L60E hold up to say a 405hp LS6?? any input would be great! thanks guys

fot that much power you would need to beef up the 60 or go the 65 or even the 70

Wouldnt even bother 65 or 70.You can find a LQ4 with a 4l80e bolted to for a good price.And your 4l60e wouldnt bolt up to a LSx any way.From what i heard its that hard buy new motor mounts or modify your old ones,i think the wiring is the hardest as usual.

You can find 8.1,s all day on ebay for under 1200, and they will bolt up to a 4l80e..go big block..that truck will be an animal

I just did a raylar cam in mine and affter i got the tune,s in from justin 'blackbear' its amazing im very happy,,

I went stoplight to stoplight with an SS truck sun afternoon. I was leaving lowes and had 1500 lbs of concrete in the bed and got him by about 5-6 truck lenghts... BIG BLOCK All the way!!
