No not at all.I wouldnt run it below 20psi some say 10psi or 15.but i wouldnt run my truck lower then 20.If you have high miles more then likely you have excessive bearing clearance.

Bad News:

That does seem to be a bit low. I know you don't need much but considering you "normally" have ~40psi I'd be a little curious.

Possibly Good News:

I don't have instructions but I'd be verifying if that is indeed your oil pressure. It could be a matter of a sending unit being bad. I don't trust gauges to be super accurate, which is why I suggest verification.

Personal recommendation:

If that is indeed your pressure, then as long as it increases with engine speed then run it until it don't go no more. Just my opinion.

I had a 92 chevy k1500 350 that idled like that, put a high volume oil pump in it and it solved that problem for me, but now my son's 94 chevy allready has a high volume oil pump in it since it never has low oil pressure, never.

I bought this last November and the pressure has been like that since I have had it. It does go up and down. Peaks about 40 unless the motor is revved when you very first start it. Guy I got it from said he went through the motor at about 75k. It has 148k right now. He said the oil pump was replaced and it was ringed and all that great stuff. When you very first start it there is a slight tick until the oil circulates a little.
