New 2012 Chevrolet Colorado LT. 4 x 4. 4 Cylinder. Automatic Transmission.

Power Windows/Mirrors/Locks. Towing Package. Locking Rear Differential. OnStar and satellite radio.

Production has ceased or about to cease.

What is in transit or on dealer lots is it.

Took quite a time to find this 2012 Chevrolet Colorado.

Very few single cab LT's out there. I was willing to settle on a WT but most of those do not come with satellite radio. Satellite radio on a work truck is a $355.00 option. Very few work trucks come with optional satellite radio.

Ordering stopped April 19, 2012. So no ordering one.

Truck stickered for $25,170.00 plus $349.00 dealer documentation fees.

I traded in my 2010 Chevrolet Colorado Extended Cab 4 X 4.

My price/cost out of pocket including all fees was $2,027.00 with trade.

And I also received a $500.00 Lowe's Gift Card - Business Choice.

I took off the factory aluminum rims/tires. Will save for when time comes to trade or sell. Tires/rims/sensors.

Added steel rims.

I just don't trust GM on any aluminum or chrome rims (see my other post on chrome rims).

Although a small segment.

There is still room for a small pickup truck.

I don't haul anymore.

Just the odds and ends around yard/home. And a few trips.

I looked at the others out there. What I found surprised me.

Nissan does not market/manufacture a small regular cab truck anymore.

Ford stopped Ranger production last year.

Toyota does have a small regular cab but:

Toyota does not offer power windows on small regular truck.

Toyota does not offer cruise control on small regular truck.

Not even an option. Can't be done. Can't order a Toyota Tacoma regular cab with power windows and cruise control. Dealer installed, mabye. But I don't want my dash torn apart for cruise control.

So GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado is the only choice if one wants regular cab with power windows and cruise control. And both have ceased production or nearly. What's on the dealer lot is about it. And that inventory is getting slim.

Rebates and Incentives.

Obtaining information about rebates, incentives, cash back, and customer loyalty is way too confusing and at times incorrect.

The national web sites such as Edmunds, KBB, etc. were of little or no help.

Even GM/Chevrolet web site was of little use. All that stated was to ask the dealer. And too many dealers did not know or did not state correctly.

Yes, some are local and vary region by region.

It took way too much effort to obtain correct rebate/incentives dealer by dealer.

I started in Arizona and ended up purchasing in Maine.

Some state a manufacture to dealer cash back of $1,000.00.

Some state a $1,000.00 rebate.

Some state a Customer loyalty rebate of $1,000.00.

There is a USAA rebate of $750.00.

Some state an AARP $1,000.00 rebate/incentive.

There is a $1,000.00 GM Mastercard rebate/incentive.

None mentioned all. Again, some do vary by region.

I ended up with $3,000 in rebates/incentives plus the $500.00 Lowe's card Business Choice.

$500.00 Lowe's Card arrived.

GM Business Choice.

You do not have to be a fleet buyer to obtain any of the Business Choice options.

All one needs is proof of being a business. Self employed is just fine.

And as I have stated over the years, most/many sales people just don't know enough about this. And false information is given out at times.

Buyer does have to ask for this.
