I have a 2001 Silverado 2500HD, with a 6.0 and a 4l80e. I rebuilt the trans and now i have an overhating problem. i have replaced cooler, cooler lines, pump and boost valve. Oil flow through the cooler seems to be low. Any ideas?

gm has a esential tool that back flushes the cooler ,checks the flow rate thru the cooler and a chart is attached to the machine for minimum flow specs for either a steel or aluminim cooler ,,,,,,

this machine HAS to be used by GM tranny techs during a rebuild for warranty purposes ....

the thought of a plugged cooler can ruin a transmission as the flow from the cooler goes to the lube circuit upon reentering the trans ,,,,that why GM had this machine built

did you rebuild the trans ? or did u have a shop do it ?

torque converters generate alot of heat but if the tranny was built wrong ,bad things happen

get it flushed (cooler ) ,,they will disconnect the cooler lines at the tranny and flush away ,,,,labour and tranny oil (2 gallons ) will be on the bill,i would think 1 hour labour MAX will cover it

good luck
