Maximum tire size '06 Silverado

Hows it going, I'm Alex and I just bought an '06 Silverado with a 6" lift and I am in need of some new tires (the ones on there are tiny haha) but the guy who I purchased it from said that 35's will fit but you have to install 33's because when you are driving on the highway it will kick in and out of overdrive. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a way around it other than going with the smaller tire size.

You could regear to 4.10s, or 4.56s, or even 4.88s. But that would be pricey. Gears are all kinds of expensive.

My '06 came with 4.10's. Check the glovebox for RPO codes that tell you what gears you have. Specifically GT4 or GT5. The 5.3 has the power, its all in the gears thanks to the 4L60
