Another New Guy

Hi everybody. I picked up my new truck about 3 weeks ago and just found this forum about a week ago. My wife can't seem to get me off the computer since I've been reading all of the old threads. I went from a 2001 Blazer to a 2003 GMC 2500HD Ext Cab, so it's been quite an adjustment, but I love it. Here's a picture.

I am also a newbie and got my truck about the same time you did.  This site is an excellent source of info.

 

How do you like your truxedo cover, I need a cover and they look pretty good from pictures I have seen.  Is it a truxedo plus, as I would like the tool box as well.

The Truxedo works fine. I kind of wish it was a little flatter with the bed, but it only sticks up about an inch or 1 1/2 inches. I didn't get the box with mine either. The only other draw back I can see is that the rails mount on the inside of the bed instead of on top of the bed rails. If you carry a lot of things in the back with the cover open, it would probably be pretty easy to hit them or bend them up. By mounting on the inside of the rails, you also loose about 3 inches of overall width at the rails. The overall design is a lot better than snaps, and the build quality seems to be really good. We'll see how well the velcro holds up over time. Good thing it's got a lifetime warranty on the velcro and cover just in case.
