2012 Tahoe HID Lights

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I haven't posted on here in a while. Recently upgraded my '10 Silverado Z71 to a '12 Z71 Tahoe. I've been toying with the idea of upgrading the headlights to HID. Has anybody messed with this recently on these models? Didn't know if anybody could recommend maybe color temp or a supplier? Also, is it worth it to upgrade the high beams? I'd love to upgrade the low beams and fog lights. Thanks!

If you decide to do them, I would go with 5000K or 6000K color. Still the HID look but with the best light output on the road. I wouldn't bother with highs unless you have the money and use your high beams a lot.

i would go 4300k

Agree - anything higher temp than 4300 and you start to get that ricer blue/purple look.

I see no need to change my 11 Sierra headlights to HID, they are great as-is, and I have 2 vehicles with factory HIDs. I did HID the fog lights as they were totally worthless as they came from the factory with a 24 watt lamp.

Only on the Denali. These are kits to use HID bulbs in the halogen housings.
