Radar Detector install/12 volt source

Hey guys,

I'm switching my Valentine 1 over from my old truck to my 2012 Tahoe. Is there a 12 volt source that's not constantly on or a "switched" 12 volt source in the roof panel that houses the lights and sunroof controls? Trying to determine the best way to mount this thing and find the correct 12 volt source. Thanks!

U have thermometer in rear view mirror? I tapped into power feed for that on my last truck.

Nope it's a new body style so it's in the instrument cluster.

If your mirror has onstar and lights incorporated to it there is power going to it. I have my Pro RX 65 tapped into my mirror switched power with an invisicord and a blendmount.

 

I would have to go look during the day to see which wires. But it is extremely easy.
