Periodically get hot air through dirver side vents

Its happening more and more often. It usually is fixable by turning and restarting the truck, but sometimes its a long stretch before I can stop to do that. I also know its probabaly a blend door actuator, but looking at rockauto.com, there is quite a few parts under that category and the abreviated terms in the descriptions dont help too much to select the right part.

Anyone know a part number for a 2005 Xcab Silverado blend door actuator for the driver side?

have you tried disconnecting your battery for about a min. or so. sometimes the BCM has a brain fart, and can cause issues with the AC. common issue. i would try it first before spending $$ on parts that may not be needed..

good luck

Its been doing this since last year and I have had the battery disconnecteed several times since then for various reasons. Still doing it.

had same issue in our 2005 burb off and on. Be driving with cold air blowing and out of not no where, full blast hot. Eventually stopping the vehicle would do the trick each time.

We also had this weird clicking noise in the dash i couldn't pinpoint. Decided to take it to the dealer - they said it was the less costly / invasive actuator (left side) and replaced it a few months ago. They also replaced a resistor and connector in the front A/C which i think had been a recall item.

So far so good, no clicking and no hot air blowing out.

Part# on my invoice for left actuator was 89018365

"Actuator 9.280"

Left as in driver (as sitting in seat) or left as in passenger (standing in front of the truck)

I would assume that your suburban has rear air. I may be wrong, but I think the parts are different for rear air equiped vehicles.

I think front dash is same. Here's the breakdown for mine (not to obvious but click on the blue "get info" to get to the diagrams and then the link in the popup window:

http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/Page_Product/PartDetail.aspx?&Make=Chevrolet&Model=Suburban&Year=2005&MakeCode=LC&ModelCode=K&CatalogCode=56C&SubModel=2500%20LS%204WD&mCode=CK25906&eCode=L18&tCode=MN8&RPO=X88&majorIndexID=09&minorIndexID=TC09-675&SortKey=28

Key#4 is what they replaced. I don't have my manual to verify which way left was not the burb to see how this blower unit is positioned, but hopefully it helps...

Mine does this all the time. Periodically it will work right. Its the actuators. Mine switch sides. I don't have the extra cash to have it done
