Anyone else notice the door moulding turning yellow(rusty color) on their trim.

My silverbirch mouldings are turning ugly, I thought i could clean them really good but the paint is not their anymore...

Yep, my Silver Birch does the same thing. And it's a butt ugly color of yellow/rust as well. Takes a lot of scrubbing to get the silver color to come back on the moulding. Must have been a low-bid supplier. For what these trucks cost.... (fume). Thanks GM.

The paint along the top of my moldings is all but gone... at least my truck is dark in color so it is hardly noticable.

I had this problem on my 08 2500HD and it drove me crazy (silver birch). When I bought my 2012 3500HD, (silver ice metallic) the first thing I noticed was that the molding does not have clear coat. Under warranty, I had my dealer repaint and clear coat the molding strips. They look great and should never fade.

I have read where a lot of people simply remove them.

I have had like 8 gm trucks....all had that issue. They ran like a top...but that was an issue as well as a steering clunk...that seems to be notorious. They fix that with grease packing.
