Just wondering if you guys actually use your nerf bars?  This came up today cause i mentioned to my gf i want to take em off this spring and i dont know if they are going to go back on or not.  She said they have to stay.  Everyone who rides in my truck uses the pass side.  I rarely use the drivers side (i jump on in at 6ft 3 i dont really need em)

I guess they're mostly for short people   . I'm 6'4" so I have no use for them and they are not on my truck. Most all the trucks I see with body lifts have them on to hide the frame. I don't care for them, but thats just me   .

I use the ones on my truck all the time.  I'm about 5'10", so pretty average in heigth.  My fiance uses them all the time as she is shorter.  I wish the truck came with a grab handle on the drivers side too.  I used the one in my Ram all the time

I also drive pple around a lot and they seem to use them too.  So, overall, I'm glad I have them.

Come this spring I am loosing the Grandpa lookin' lighted running board/body flares for a set of SS Westins.  I am 6 feet tall and have no problem getting in my truck.  I have noticed that when I sit down (and dont use the step boards) I am on the left side of the seat and constanly have to scoot over to get situated.  I think over a period of time this will wear the leather seats out quicker scooting around.   My wife uses the running boards all the time and wants some kind of steps to be on the truck.  All in all I think they are used for the purpose they were intended for.  They probably also provide some protection  for side collisions too.

Buy a Crew Cab then both sides of the bArs will be used.....I never use mine and even think they kinda get in the way but my 4 yearold that sits behind me loves the new bars I got for christmas......plus they hide that ugly frame rail!

My 2 Cents.......

My family uses the bars.  I like the bars much better than running boards.  I saw a 1500 long box yesterday that had running boards and (believe it or not) fender skirts.  I thought fender skirts went out in the fifties!   ???

I used mine some of the time before the body lift, but all the time since.

I can picture Shane lining up the family before going somewhere and briefing them to "Use the steps!!" and then making sure they do. LOL    :chevy:
