Question
Grebbler
2002 Tahoe LS 4X4. 210,000 MI
How can I definitively test my Nivomat shocks? They are pricey and I want to be really sure before replacing.
One source I found said to check if they still pump up. They do.
Others say that if they don't leak they are fine. Mine have not leaked that I can see.
However, the truck feels wallowy and gets real twitchy on the highway with any crosswind.
Alignment checks good. Tires are good.
I have replaced the front shocks with Bilstein HD's last year along with sway bar bushings.
Jumping on the back of the truck don't yield much info. The jounce is slight and hard to tell what is shock bounce or tire movement.
