oxygen sensor connection

I have a 2002 Sierra 1500 4x4 with the 5.3l engine. My truck started idiling really rough and the exhaust smelled rich. Finally one day driving on the freeway, it threw mw a code. It gave as a current fault, P0138- Powertrain O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2). I also got, as pending codes, P0171- Powertrain System too lean (Bank 1) and P0300- Powertrain Random/Multiple Cylinder Missfire Detected. I got a Bosch O2 sensor and the plug is like a four flat female plug. I craweled under there today nad the first sensor I found was the one downstreem of the cat. It had a small square plug. So mine no fit. Then I looked before the cat and couldnt find the connection at all. Where is this connection located and/or did I get the wrong O2 sensor? If I did, wtf is the correct part number and am I looking at the wrong sensor? HELP!!!

As far as the O2 sensors are concerned it usually depends on your VIN (T, Z) and whether or not it was built in Canada. My truck VIN is a T and built in Canada. It uses Denso 2344650 and it has a square connector. Rock Auto shows the Bosch p/n to be a 13193. All 4 should be the same.

OK. I got the O2 sensor replaced, cleaned my K&N, cleaned the MAF. Truck ran great.......for a few days. It started to rough idle again, smells real bad and the inside of the tail pipe is black as night. It shot me another code this time, P0131. Now from what I gather, its telling me that I now need to replace the O2 sensor, just off the manifold or pre cat. Is this correct? Where does it plug into? Am I just chasing a gremlin? I have also found that it may also be the MAF. With all the shit going on, would that lead you to believe the MAF has gone bad? Please, send me some ideas. None of this shit started happening untill I got the thing paid off. Its a curse huh.

BTW. I found out the hard way, two trips to the parts store, my truck is Canadian.

i highly recommend getting it diag'd properly unless repair by guessing works for you ...

the cost of throwing parts at it will pay for the cost of an actual diagnoses and if they mess it up ,its on them ,,,,not you

just sayin...
