Shawn T Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 On long trips, especially high altitudes, and hilly situations I get a SES light. P0401, if I remember correctly, it usually resets itself, but lately I have had to do it manually. It all started when I put an exhaust system on it. Removed the cat, dynamax muffler with 4" pipe. I'm assuming it's breathing "too easy" and not enough EGR flow? I'm really contemplating going back to stock exhaust. Will this eliminate this problem? Is there something else causing it?
Prokopchuk_9 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Is this a diesel truck? If so. Get an egr blocker plate, or an egr delete kit. This will eliminate your problem and add life to your vehicle. And get a tuner or a handheld that will eliminate the DTC's for you.
Shawn T Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 Yeah, it's a duramax. I have a Diablo Predator, I use it to reset the fault code. Where do I shop for the blocker plate/delete kit? How much $?
