2011 sierra 5.3 bogging at start up - please help

Hi,

 

My 2011 sierra 5.3L is having some problems now that it's winter here in Winnipeg. When I start it, it fires up fine but then immediately boggs down or something and runs rough for a bit. It's obiously not the starter or anything related as it starts with no problem at all, its just that as soon as it starts it bogs right down. It usually recovers withing a few seconds but sometimes it has actually stalled out. It recently stalled out like this after start up and now I have a check engine light up and the factory remote start no longer works because of it.

 

Haven't had a chance to check the code yet. I should also mention that the truck has a K&N intake and cat back exhaust. It didn't do this last winter when these items weren't installed. Also, it doesn't even have to be extremely cold or anything. It does it when its fairly mild out too.
