HM-290 to NV-4500 swap?? Experienced help please!!!

Hi there, I'm a new member and could really use some experienced help.

 

 

I have a 1989 Chevy Cheyenne K 1500 4 x 4 with a 305 engine, the HM-290 transmission and NP-241 transfer case. I would like to install a NV-4500 in place of the HM-290. To the best of my knowledge, the NV-4500 should be direct bolt-in, provided I find a NV-4500 that came out of a 4 x 4, and it has the correct bell-housing (fits the small-block, and has the clutch slave cylinder at the passenger side location).

 

Can anyone please tell me whether or not I'll need to move the cross member??

 

Have I missed anything else?

 

Finally, what year of donor truck I should be looking for??
