Yeah lets here it for the old farts.....from what I understand Elwood they better do it or they are screwed because of salary cap problems. Is this true.....they have to be paying all those old guys big buck$.

Supposedly they will be $50 million over at the end of the year, but that was before the league announced an increase in the salary cap due to their lucrative contract with Direct TV. This should help them with 1 or 2 million. According to Tim Brown though he doesn't think it will be a problem. He talked like he and many other veterans were willing to restructure their contracts if they have to. So we'll see, Al Davis has always been good at keeping the ones he wants to keep.

But even if they lose a few of them, the draft was REALLY good to them last year, and they still have two of Tampa's picks this Aprils as well.

Way I figure it is that if the Raiders win alot of those guys will probably retire anyway, if they lose they would probably be willing to restructure just for another chance. We'll see.
