Advent OGM1: iphone bypass question

Hello Forum,

 

Im new to forums so.. bear with me.

 

I like the traffic option in my iphones tomtom.

I've been entertaining the idea that the OGM1 can use the iphones telephony to "trick " the OGM1 in thinking there is a RDS-TMC tuner inside of it. I've been talking with some software engineers and they say.. anything is possible with 1s & 0s.

 

I see that iGo has traffic for their phone apps already, and iGo has a traffic service for compatible head-units (OGM is not one of them due to no RDS-TMC tuner..from what I hear) bridging the two should (somehow) should give the OGM1 access to the traffic.. in theory.

 

What are your thoughts? I this a valuable use of my time? Has this been attempted or ever talked about?
