Best sounding muffler for 2004 5.3.

Looking to purchase a muffler for my 2004 silverado. It has a 5.3 engine. I was looking at the magnaflow 12589 or the flowmaster 50 series 853057.

I currently just have the stock straight pipe with a small resonator on the end of it. It sounds like crap in my opinion. I'm back to work now and would like to get it fixed. I had a flowmaster muffler on there before with dual pipes coming off the muffler. They rusted out and I had to cut everything off. I did this quick fix in the winter and now it's time to fix it. I just want a stainless muffler with a single output so I can put the resonator on the end of it and be done with it. This was the second time I had to cut off the dual exhaust set up. The salt in the winter up here doesn't work well with metal.

I really like my Magnaflow 22". It's a 5x11" body if I remember right. You may not even need to put the resonator on, it's pretty mellow.

What's the difference of the magnaflow 12579 and 12589? I liked the sound of that muffler in the video. It sounded much better than the flowmaster previously on here.

I guess I classify as annoying a-hole with my LT headers, no cats, dual'd into x-pipe and out with two cherry bomb extremes dumped before the rear axle. Eh, almost went with straight headers lol, sounds wicked!

That shit is for a race track in my opinion....The loud trucks, over-sized tires, and 12" lift kits make me think of the look at me because my ween is tiny mentality. I just want the truck to be quieter and still sound good.

It seems the difference between the magnaflow 12579 and 12589 muffler is that the inlet/outlet pipes are lined up differently. The 12579 outlets are lined up center to center and the 12589 is lined up center/offset. Is there any reason I would want the pipe to be lined up center/offset instead of center to center?
