Tailgate Protection

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas for protecting the outside of the tailgate from rock chips/other debry while pulling trailers/5th wheels. I know the easiest fix is to probably just get the tailgate 3M protected. There is a leather wrap that is made called "gateglove" that looks super easy to put on and take off with snaps each use but that requires taking off the factory tailgate fin and putting on a flush one which I do not want to do. Does anyone know of any different products?

With the truck being White Diamond I am very affraid to spray anything onto the paint and risk of havint a dramatic color change. Thanks for your input though.

I understand, but I'm sure since it is made by 3M, they will stand by their product. I definitely understand your concern.

Has anybody seen or used the 3M spray stuff? Looks like it's fairly easy to apply and if it works as advertised, it might be worth getting for the truck.
