Super Bowl

I thought I would go ahead and take the time to congratulate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their fans now for their Super Bowl win.  That way I can do my homework after the game, instead of thinking about how bad the Raiders got their butt kicked.  Tampa is making my Raiders look like the Cincinnati Bengals.   :jester:

Congratulations to the Bucs.

At least its my favorite NFC team.  I'd hate to see my team get whipped by some other NFC team like they're getting whipped in this one.

Although I don't follow the NFL too much, especially during the racing season, I would have liked to see the Raiders win.  They were my favorite team back in the 80's.  I've always liked the Bucs too since they entered the NFL, so was glad to see them get the win.  Would have been cool to see them suprise everyone and come out of the tunnel in the old orange/white uniforms, for all the old time fans.  I still have a few old orange/white shorts, sweat shirts, etc.  I doubt they fit though.  :jester:

I knew it would be a tough game but I was suprised at the final score. Congrat to both teams for great seasons. Maybe the Pats will return next year.

Most the time the best team wins .

But that was not the case on sunday  :jester:

I think the NFL should be looking into the possibility that someone paid the Raiders off .

You could tell by the Raiders play that they threw that game away

One call I didn't understand was one near the end of the game, I think.  I think it was Rice who caught the ball on the far side of the field, ran/pushed out of bounds, but the glock still ran.  The announcers said somthing about the "play ended before he went out of bounds".

How?

???   Did I miss something?

We'll it's a conspiracy because I think that Denver should've been in the Super bowl, but then again I''m a die hard DEnver fan...  So seeing the raiders loose was a sweet victory for me!!!  No matter who was on the winning side.

HOwever the Raiders did play like a big fat pile of cow dung......

When Rice went out he was pushed out.  That doesn't justify clock stoppage for some reason.  The only bad calls I saw were the one that was overturned at the beginning where the Buccaneer returner was down but called it a fumble,, but that one got corrected.  The other two were against the Raiders.  One was the Pass Interference call against C.Woodson on the sideline when he barely touched the guy and the ball was clearly uncachable out of bounds.  The other was the 2 point conversion where Jerry Porter was pushed out of bounds and they call it out of bounds, when he was coming down in bounds until he was pushed.

As for the old Tmapa uniforms.  I heard Warren Sapp saying that they had talked about doing it, but they players, himself included, that had been there when they actually wore those uniforms wanted no part of it.

As for the Raiders giving it away on purpose, I doubt it.  Tampa was just alot fater than they expected.  I watched all the Raiders games except 2 this year, and I only missed about 4 Tampa games.  After seeing that many I never even realized Tampa was that fast.

I think the game sucked the big one.  It wasn't very interesting, even close to the end when the Raiders started to catch up.  The commercials weren't the best ever either.  In all, it was one of the lamer super-bowls I have seen.  I did have fun at the super bowl party I threw though.  The beer and pizza was ample so I was a happy guy!
