I have a 2000 Silverado Z-71 5.3 litre. I've been having intermittent problems with the dash lights blinking and when this occurs then the truck won't idle without pressing the accelerator. When this first started occuring only the 4WD indicator lights would all light up and blink. The last time this occurred the 4wd indicator lights were blinking, the park brake light was blinking, the abs light was blinking etc... and about every 5-10 seconds I would hear a click and the gauges would fall to zero and then another click and they would start working again. This only occurs at start up and when I have the blinking dash lights then the engine won't idle without pressing the accelerator. If I let the truck cut off then eventually it won't crank at all and sometimes it appears tto lose all electrical power. I can disconnect and reconnect the battery cables and the problem clears up and usually doesn't occur again for a few weeks. I don't see any corrosion on the battery or cables and the cables appear to have a good connection to the battery. I thought maybe I had a bad ground somewhere. However, since disconnecting/reconnecting the battery cables clears the problem, I'm thinking it could be a computer related problem or a bad battery? Does anyone have suggestions for things I can check to trace down the problem? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

dont assume its a pcm,

can you move the battery cables when bolt is tight ?

if so ,remove bolt from cable and install a small washer ,,,,,that moves the bolt away from the battery ,preventing the bottoming out of the bolt

check all grounds you can find ,,,good luck
