03 bose sub and wiring pictures

Took my new 03 apart today to track down which wires under the center console lead to the +/- terminals of the sub.  I'm upgrading the sub with a LOC (line output converter), Phoneix Gold XS2300 amp and a JL Audio 10w6.  Thought others out there might benefit from the research I did today...

 

See pics at the url below.  You'll see the wiring from the amp to the OEM connector, wiring between the OEM connector and the sub speaker terminals, pics of the sub itself, and pics of the ported enclosure.

If you're interested in adding an amp and sub in the same manner I am you do not need to disassemble the console to the extent I did.  I had to pull the entire thing out to get to the sub.  If you remove the bucket and lid part of your console (9 screws) you will see two wiring harnesses attached to the amp.  The harness on the passenger side has wires for the subwoofer, rear audio controls, AND GET THIS, WIRES FOR THE CIG LIGHTER POWER OUTLETS, both front seat and back!  Out of the wire bundle on the passenger side you'll see one group of wires leading to the rear audio controls and power outlet, you'll see anoother set of wires that run forward toward the sub.  The four wires you need are in the bundle running forward to the sub.  Dark blue and dark green are positive speaker leads, light blue and light green are negative leads. (It's a dual voice coil sub)

How does it sound and where did you put your sub. I need more bass

I'm also curious as to how your system sounds now and what exactly you did. I like the Bose system, but could use bass as well.

i added an mtx thunderform to my truck.... i just grabbed a signal from the rear doors (under the drivers side channel) do you think i will get a better signal by going to the sub outs? or would i be beating a dead horse?
