Well, I went down to chicago saturday and picked up another computer and some 3d cards for the computers.  Now I've got two computers w/ 17" monitors and some niced sized speakers and my newest computer w/ a very nice 32 meg Video card w/ tv out all in my room hooked up to the network.  I played some games on the 27" TV last night and watched some downloaded movies.  The quality was pretty good for most movies and didn't lag very much considering I was watching them through the network off of my other computer that kazaa was running w/ a ton of downloads.

Now, I just need to get a few more big hard drives and some more ram, I'm thinking 256 for each new computer since my other computer has about 95 gigs of HD space and 361 megs of ram.

I'll get some pics of the set up tonight I ran out of time yesterday and my room was just cluttered w/ computer parts.

I did get a computer for my sister who turns 10 this friday.  I installed win2000 and I just have to set it up for the network and get her microsoft word.  Now I've got to buy a new network hub since mine is just a 5 port hub.

Chevy4X4 - how is the peripheral support for Win2000 these day?  Installed it when it first came out and NOTHING I had worked....sound like you have a failr good setup....any problems?

Win2k has been great, really easy to set up the network.  I think the only problem I have is the other computers on the network don't like to go to all the sites on the net for some reason.  I haven't had much of a chance to check it out to see what the problem is, probably something to do w/ the settings.

Other than that it's been a nearly flawless set up and I've been yanking stuff out and putting stuff in these computers over the past few weeks.

Question, I installed XP on my laptop.  It was a "de-bugged" version so that I don't need to register for each PC I install it on.

Anyway, it's actually setup for a network as I had to set up a PW in order to log on.  At X-mas I was using it to work on my mother's car and when I went in, I put it on the charger.  Only thing unbeknownst to me, is the outlet I plugged it into, was a switchable outlet.  As such when the light the switch also operates was swtiched off, so did the power to my laptop.

After three or so hours, the battery died.  Now when I try to log on to it, it won't let me.  It keeps giving me the "You must have forgotten your password" error and won't let me in.

HELP!!!   :D

Hmmm, I don't have any of mine set up for passwords, but I think you can start it up in safe mode and then mess w/ the network profiles.

Did you set up a password for Administrator?  If not just try typing that in as your name and hit enter.

when i want to run it in safe mode i just turn the comp on and off several times really fast using the switch in the back and it  will let me

DO NOT USE THE PACO WAY OF RUNNING IN SAFE MODE UNLESS YOU ARE DESPRATE!!

You may want to start a new thread to draw more attention to your problem.  We've got a few guys on here that are great w/ computers and can help you out a lot more than me.

But, back on topic, got some pics of the computer hooked up to the tv, I've got some PS2 extension cables for the mouse and keyboard to extend them to the couch.  It's a pretty sweet set up, I've got the ATI All in Wonder 128 32 meg graphics card.
