But chevrolet transport that another story!!!!

Chevrolet or GM does not transport the vehicles. Its Interstate Commerce done by licensed and regulater carriers, both rail and truck which are regulated in how much time they can work. GM can pressure them but they cannot make them move.

Blame the trucking company in this case, the trains got the truck to their distination (rail ramp) but the dispatcher for the truck company has not prioritized the load. Also, often times the trucking companies have more loads than they have drivers, so freight backs up. Not all that unusual.

I understand the union aspect of the equation

The Chevy Rep. That I spoke with advised me of a shipping method involving a vessel that was tried recently that played a factor in my situation. He stated that it was a " less than trouble free trial that went poorly".

It has 9/13 in the door. I wonder if that indicates Sept. 13th or just Sept. of 2013?

The 9/13 indicates your truck was made in Sept 2013. If you look at the frame under the drivers door. Mine has a sticker with some information on it. It has a manufacture date on it. I don't know if that just means the frame or the whole truck was built on that date or not. It will be real close to that date though.
