2001 TAHOE HEAT IN FRONT, NOT BACK. NOW VICE VERSA!

Suddenly we had no hot air in the front, but the rear system worked.

Directional controls work (defrost / floor / dash vents / etc) so that actuator I assume is ok.

As do the temp control to the section working.

1. disconnected battery and reset by touching cables

2. Backflushed heater core and refilled coolant. no signs of clogs or debris

3. both hoses running hot same temp.

NOW....

reconnected hoses and now we have heat in the front, but not the back!

I may have switched the hoses when reconnecting at the heater core, but that shouldn't matter.

Also, the heater core nipples broke. There is enough barb to attach with screw clamps, but I will have to get new ones.

Any idea on this heat gremlin please?

If there were only two hoses and one heater core then I wouldn't worry. I would start by checking the actuators to see if they are trying to move. I know on my truck I need two new ones as sometimes they work correctly and other times they get all screwy.
