Headers worth the Money?

I am wondering if headers are worth the money?  I am looking at either Edelbrock or Gibson. How hard are they to install, and will it change the tone of the exhaust any?

Tweeter, whether they're worth the money or not is kind of subjective.  If you have other modifications such as a high-flow air intake and low-restriction exhaust, maybe a reprogrammer, then they're probably "worth the money."

 

As far as changing the tone of your exhaust, you probably will not notice much difference...at least from my experience.  I have JBA shorties on my '99 ZR2 and, as soon as I can afford it, I'll put headers on my '00 Sierra.

 

I saw where a company named Dynatech has some new stainless steel long-tube headers with hi-flow catalytic converters and a 2-into-1 collecter pipe that looks pretty interesting.  Kind of expensive, but interesting.

Headers should be added as part of a package If you just throw on a set of headers you really wont notice much of a performance gain because the rest of the stock exhaust will still add alot of back pressure to your rig.  It will change your tone but adding a cam headers and custom exhaust is how to get that throaty rumble.
