UPD VOLANT K&N

I am very happy with my K&N.  I went with the full FIPK and besides horsepower gains, I have also noticed gains in my mileage.  I'd say, with the normal driving I do, about a 3 mpg increase in gas mileage, which is incredibly great.  As far as actual horsepower and torque gains, they claim 12-15 horses and I'd say that's a little inflated.  Maybe somewhere are 4-7 horse gain is more likely since the tube and filter increase flow and the shield blocks the warm engine air from getting in.

I have emailed this company numberous times trying to get more information and they dont care to deal at the customer level. You have to email someone who sales their filters, but they don't have all the information. Some people say they don't work any better than stock. Without the response, i'm going with another company.

Thanks. I wish someone would do a dyno test on them. That would save me from doing it. Oh well! What is a measly $60 bucks?

I have the the UPD (NSV) and am satisfied w/ it. It made an improvement when I installed it but when I added the ram air tube my butt dyno said h*ll yea! I made the ram air myself. Since the UPD (NSV) uses the bottom of the airbox and a drop in K&N filter the air from the ram air tube goes right up into the tube of the intake. :D

BTW - the other day when I popped the hood I did notice some water spots on the lid of the UPD (NSV). :D I thought of going w/ the K&N FIPK but now, glad I didn't as rain might have been a prob as the K&N uses an open filter setup.

Just my .02. Hope this helps.
