Difference in rear shocks from 2013 to 2014

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 4x4 on order and the first thing I usually do when buying a new truck is replace the shocks since the factory shocks are usually pretty crappy to begin with. It doesn't look like Bilstein or Rancho have shocks listed for the new body style trucks yet but I am wondering if GM really changed that much on the shock setup. The fronts, from what I have seen, look like last years setup and the front leveling kits from several manufacturers claim that the ones from the 2008-2013 trucks will work on the 2014 so obviously much didn't change there either.

I was wondering if someone who still has access to a 2008-2013 4x4 1500 truck could measure the length of their rear shocks from lower bolt hole to the upper bolt hole and also if someone with a new 2014 4x4 could do the same and lets compare shock lengths. If they are the same then I don't see why the 2008-2013 shocks wouldn't work. The dampening rate may be a little different but I wouldn't think that it would be much and I'd be willing to go ahead and order the Bilsteins that fit the 2013 model truck to try them out on my 2014 once it comes in. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated by myself and I'm sure there are other members here who are holding out for this as well.

Thanks,

Well I can tell you this, Rancho definitely makes shocks for a 2014 cause my Z71 came with them

KMGMC, General Motors is using a "Rancho branded" shock but it is not a true Rancho shock. Rancho does not even list a shock for the 2014 trucks on their website yet. This is the same thing that GM did back in the early 2000s when they were using "Bilstein branded" shocks. Back then I replaced my GM factory "Bilsteins" with real Bilsteins and the difference was like night and day. I don't want to ride on these fake Ranchos for much longer than the trip home from the dealer when I pick the truck up.

Oh ya but it's still a Rancho shock, it's obviously nothing like there aftermarket shocks I'm aware.

Was just stating they are ranchos, whenever yukon releases gears for this truck I'm going with the BDS Coil lift. That's the only reason I haven't got better shocks for it yet because for me it'd be a waste.
