nomadicdogg Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 hey all truck is on order, it will be the 6.2L with max tow. Has anyone with the 6.2 done any exhaust mods? Most of the available ones are all for the 5.3 I have a local shop that does great work but worried about droning and it being overly loud. Any thoughts, suggestions or links to sound videos ect. thanks
RyanbabZ71 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Wait to hear the exhaust. On the gmt900's they sound pretty good stock Ryan
nomadicdogg Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 I havent heard a 6.2 in person, isnt one within 1000 miles last time I looked. The 5.3 is to quiet for me My camaro has a muffler delete and I loved the tone of it. since I had to sell the camaro to do what I am doing I want the truck to sound as close to it as I can
billyb_at_borla Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Hi nomadicdogg Congrats on the 6.2L! Although we don't have any bolt-on exhaust systems for your motor yet, we do offer a wide variety of universal Borla mufflers. Do you know what pipe size you're running? Our heavy duty specialty muffler (part #400436) may be a good choice for your truck, the pipe size for this muffler is 3". However, if the pipe size for your truck is 3.5", our Multicore (part #40722) or Sportsman mufflers would be a good fit. These Sportsman mufflers come in 12" (p. #40945) and 16" (p. #40946) lengths. If you want your truck loud, go with the 12". If you want a little more rumble out of the exhaust, but absolutely don't want drone, one of our Multicore mufflers would be a better fit.We have plans to make exhaust systems for the 6.2L, but it will be awhile before it comes out. If you have any questions about our products, please give us a call at 805-986-8600 and we'll gladly help you out. Good luck in your search!

Bapple30 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I made a vid on this exact topic, here is one option. Very very happy with mine, recommended...
Bapple30 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 All 6.2's come stock with a 3.5" exhaust. The only full catback system that I found, at least back when I was looking, that was 3.5" or larger was the Hearthrob 4" catback. Wasn't going to downsize to a 3". I do appreciate your highly intellectual and referenced comment on the 4" being way to big. Thanks
karlde Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 We have a 2008 Yukon Denali with the 6.2 motor. It has great power and runs good. We have around 50,000 miles on it and it sounds better each time I hear my wife start it and pull away. We have the original exhaust and I think it sounds great.
