Gone bonkers! Electric/tronic issues.

Greetings again to my Silverado Yogi's. I'll try to keep the explanation simple. 2004 Silverado, 3500, 6.0 gas, 62,00 mi. A couple of months ago the voltmeter pegged to the 5 o'clock position and has been there ever since. Don't know if this was relavent to what started happening yesterday morning. Turned key, (first start of the day) nothing. Zilch. Nada. Turned off and turned again. Truck started, but low idle, 450-500 and my radio clock had reset to 1200. But all the XM present station were fine. Drove daughter to school, 13 miles, and all was good. Idle @ 800ish. Was normal rest of day. This morning, started to just see what up. It was fine and shut off. Didn't go anywhere. Later on, took wife out for lunch (Mexican). Same thing. No contact, lost the clock again. Started on second try, rough idle. Driving down the main drag of town and every single warning and info light on dash flashed about 3 times, all the gauges pegged to the left all at once. Then all was normal. Really weird. Any ideas? Battery is 2 2 1/2 years old and replaced MAF sensor last summer. As always, all opinions and different ideas are welcome.

First off I would clean all battery connections and test. Then if the issue still occurs have the batteries tested. Any Autozone will do this for free.

Hope this helps.

Start at the easiest spot. Thanks Michael. Have a battery load tester here in the garage.

I have had the same thing but I get a "click" from the engine compartment then nothing. Try it again and truck starts fine. No other issues however. Probably happens 1-2 times a year. Battery terminals clean
