New Gauge Issue - intermittent ABS/Battery/Fuel Gauge fault

Hey guys,

I think I have read 100 plus topics on cluster issues for Blazers and I am still at a loss.

2005 Blazer, auto with floor console shift, 80,000km.

Recent issue the ABS, Battery light will randomly come on, the fuel guage will drop to empty and fuel light come on when battery light comes on. The fuel gauge and battery symtoms last just a second or two while driving at various times. ABS light will stay on longer.

Checked battery, alternator, replaced both as Alternator wasn't putting out enough amps at full draw. Battery as it was original.

Recent change was to replace the old remote start unit with a new Viper unit with longer range. The installer has been excellent at trying to find this on going issue as it popped up right after the install. They have replaced an ABS sensor as they believed it was causing the ABS fault at no charge to us, checked the install and have since removed the Viper unit to see if the fault goes away.

I am not sold it will go away. I want to believe it has nothing to do with the install of the Viper unit as the previous system had no issues other than the crappy range. These guys do this for a living, its not your Walmart brand installers.

Every other thread I have read has to do with the PRND indicator, or all the gauges, and even the TSB for older trucks doesn't seem to apply.

It is completely possible that the install of the new unit and gauge issue popped up at the same time.

We are going on vacation for a week and I do not want this issue plauging us over that time. Any ideas on what to look for over the next few days?
