Are tailgates interchangeable?

Sup all, stupid topic, but I've got a '95, and that year they have the big CHEVROLET across the entire back of the tailgate.  My question is whether I have to get a new tailgate, or if I can take that piece off and get the smaller black rectangle with the Chevrolet on it.  I dunno what year they started making the small Chevrolet in the lower right corner of the tailgate, but that's what I'm goin for.  I think it was about the '98s or so.  ???

I'm going to say that a '98 tailgate would fit on your '95 just fine.  (Not 100% positive though)

 

If that Chevrolet logo is the raised decal panel, you may be able to remove it assuming it is stuck on with dbl face tape.

True. I wonder if it'll leave any marks or scratches, etc. that I won't be able to get off when removing the big panel and attaching the small black emblem or whatever on.  It'd still be cheaper than replacing the whole tailgate I suppose.  I bet the dealer will charge a buttload for that stupid little black chevrolet decal or whatever though.  Their prices are a little unreal sometimes.  I might see if I can't take the big panel off or something.
