Automatic Door Locks lock doors unexpectedly.

I have the automatic door locks my 09 Siverado Lt Ext Cab set to not lock at all.

I usually use the key fob to lock and unlock the truck.

The truck is set so when you put it in drive, the doors lock.

The other day, I left work late, and this is not a good neighborhood to work in at night, I jumped in the truck and hit the door lock button, even before putting in the key. So then I drove home and off to work the next day....no problem.

Then I stopped to get gas and I took the key out of the ignition, opened the door and started to jump out, and I heard the bell or chime going off. So I looked at the dash to see if a light was flashing, or some type of warning and found nothing so I closed the door. I always leave the truck unlocked while fueling.

All of a sudden....Click.....the doors are locked.

I didn't tell it to do that, and it has not done it since.

Could it have had something to do with me locking the doors by using the inside button when I left work the night before?

Do you think that maybe it was just a glitch in the system?

You pushed the lock button getting out. After pushing the button it chimes a few times and after a few seconds the doors lock. Normal.

I guess I must have hit it on the way out and didn't notice.

Now I think I will try that when I get out of the truck the next time and see if it sets the alarm too. Then I don't have to mess with the fob.

I think it does. I use it a lot when I get back from grocery shopping. I live on the second floor so I always take too much at once and then realize I can't get my keys so I stab at the lock button with an elbow or pinky finger.
