Not Starting after only 148 miles.

If this was a safety issue, such as a documented fuel leak or something similar, they would have a recall. If it does not start, apparently they consider it to be a mere inconvenience.

That is a perspective from someone that lives in a warm climate. When you live in a northern climate, "cold" is a safety issue. It was -10F when my truck didn't start the other day. Luckily I was at home and went back inside. It could have been much worse for me or my kids if we were not able to go back into the house.

I do not disagree with you at all. Besides, it should be embarrassing to GM to sell $ 40k+ vehicles that have this problem.

I agree with this statement too. This year has been deadly cold in Michigan. I was lucky to be at home when mine wouldn't start also.

I give kudos to GM customer service at least. Their first question to me was if I was ok and in a safe place.

Besides, it should be embarrassing to GM to sell $ 40k+ vehicles that have this problem.

Update:

I got my truck back yesterday. The dealer was able to cold start it in the morning. GM advised them to reprogram the BCU.

I told my service guy about the starter idea and he kind of just shrugged it off. I'm sure he has a lot of customers trying to self-diagnose cars and problems. If I get the No-Start again, I will insist they replace the starter with a US made starter. I wrote down the part number.

I hope either this is fixed or it shows up again real soon. We don't have a lot of cold days left this winter here in Michigan. I don't want to deal with this problem a year from now or spend the Summer wondering if I'll be stranded somewhere next Winter.
