sknutson913 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Hey Guys, Ive been battling a PARASITIC DRAW ISSUE with my 2003 Silverado SS (103k miles) this winter. So far Ive had the alternator and battery replaced, as well as updated the BCM and ECU to the latest updates, Still was experiencing issues. Truck would die over night and the GM dealership determined something wasnt letting the BCM fall asleep. Thats as far as the got as I opted to do some more research and try to track down the exact issue myself (after 6 hours I didnt feel very competent with the guy working on it, he seemed very dumbfounded). I've been leaving the truck on the charger at night and thats been fine for me until it gets warm enough for me to mess with it. Monday I came home from work and my truck died in the driveway (after a 5 minute drive home) I went to start it back up, turned the key, gauges lit up, radio started, heater blower started, headlights turned on, turned the key to start the truck and nothing happened, no fuel pump noise, no crank, nothing. I read a few other posts and got the idea that it was the IGNITION SWITCH. I got a replacement, Followed an online write up to replace it. Did so to what I believe was correctly and turned the key, NOTHING, NO START, NO CRANK. I put my foot on the brake and everything turned off EVEN WITH THE KEY ON. I checked some of the fuses linked to the ignition, starter, instruments, everything looked okay, replaced those fuses and notice my dome lights were off. NOW NOTHING WORKS. No windows, no dash lights, no gauges, no radio, no blower, NOTHING. I have no clue what it could be and im super stressed over the whole ordeal. Did I install the Ignition Switch wrong, could that be effecting the passlock and does the vehicle not want to start due to that, when the gauges were working, I was NOT getting the lock symbol, It would illuminate but go away after 3 seconds. When my key was on before trying to start the gauges would light BUT my gas needle would not rise like normally would and my ABS, BATTERY, and AIRBAG lights would illuminate. PLEASE HELP!!

This service will be performed for you at no charge. What You Should DoWe recommend that you contact your dealer to arrange a service date.
