MurphDDm4 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 A month after purchasing my Sierra the wiring harness in the headliner came loose and was flopping around. I brought it in and the tech relocated it and secured it. Well a month and a half or so later (this past weekend) it has come unharnessed again and is flopping around. Has anyone else had this same issue? I mean I drive on the freeway and make it a point to avoid crappy roads as to not cause premature rattles in the cabin. I can't understand why the wiring harness is dropping onto the headliner so easily.
cmpcpro Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 That certainly is strange why it would keep coming undone. I would go back and raise hell. They surely should be able to keep a harness from coming undone.. Is it getting unplugged? Could a tab be broken? One a second note: I am glad I am not the only one who trys to avoid big potholes/bumps and bad roads.. I am in SoCal so they seem to be everywhere, and I get a little angry everytime I hit a big ditch or pothole or bad road because I think of all the money they get out of fuel tax, insurance tax, license/registration taxes, etc.. and I am sure a large sum goes right into the big guy's pockets.. I'm sure the big guys in the road dept. have a driveway and the street infront of their house you could ice skate on.
MurphDDm4 Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Sound of quality built into your truck. Yeah no kidding but atleast so far have not experience any of the multitude of issues that have been brought up on these forums. I am thinking there is some kind of hook or clip that instead of making sure it did not happen again the tech just put it back on the hook or clip. To me it is a very minor inconvenience when you look at what other problems I could be experiencing. I am definitely going to let the manager know I am not happy I am having to come back for a second time.

Yeah I know this is a truck but I am a stickler for rattles and other cabin noise. At the same time I understand these things do creep up with the age of a vehicle but I like to prolong the inevitable cabin rattles. I came from a 370z which had zero sound dampening and aftermarket exhaust so I am enjoying the silence in the cabin of this truck until the wire harness decides to fall on the headliner.
